Our Popular Dementia Training Course for Therapists Is New and Improved!
Our popular dementia training course for therapists, Dementia Therapy: Achieving Positive Outcomes for the Person With Dementia, has received a face-lift. This redesign offers the option to attend the One-Day Foundation Course or to attend Two-Day Foundation and Dementia Therapy Applications. Additionally, modifications have been made to improve transfer of knowledge to the workplace.
What Therapists Will Learn
- Identify the paradigm shifts in our approach to dementia care.
- Demonstrate an understanding of Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias (ADRD) and its impact on cognitive function.
- Describe the stages of dementia and approaches to maximize function and emotional well-being.
- Identify care approaches that promote best abilities corresponding to the Allen Cognitive Level of the person with dementia.
- Examine ways to support care and treatment plans in order to maximize function and well-being of persons with dementia.
- Explore the treatment path formula.
- Discuss keys for successful reimbursement.
- Develop and properly document treatment goals and plans.
- Create and implement a successful maintenance program.
Maximize Therapy Services and Revenue!
Your facility could be losing at least $4,200 in Med. A. revenue per resident. This training helps maximize reimbursements by ensuring that opportunities to provide therapy services aren’t being missed and that clients with ADRD aren’t being prematurely discharged because they “no longer show progress.”
Why Therapists Should Attend
- Training from Dementia Care Specialists helps clinicians deliver higher-quality care that improves outcomes and enhances quality of life for people with ADRD and their families.
- Experience shows that people receiving care appropriate to their abilities have fewer complications such as infections, stress, falls, hospital admissions, UTIs, skin breakdowns, depression/anxiety, and wandering.
- Well-trained therapists have more confidence and skills to successfully evaluate and treat those who may have learning impairments and behavior challenges related to ADRD.
- This training program establishes a common language so that staff teams are more effective at driving positive outcomes.
